Wetlands: Values, Threats, and Protection - Sept. 21-23

Webinar

Hudsonia and the Hudson River Estuary Program are pleased to offer a new webinar series about wetland conservation on September 21-23, 2020, 3:00-4:30pm each day.

The series will take place on three days -- September 21, 22, and 21, from 3:00-4:30pm each day. In these 1.5-hour sessions, we will discuss the ecological and water resource values of wetlands; threats to wetlands; how to identify unmapped wetlands on site plans and other maps using online tools and in the field; the status of state and federal regulatory programs for wetlands; and how to extend local protections to these important resources.

The program is especially designed for municipal officials, including members of planning boards and conservation advisory councils, and for members of watershed groups, land trust staff, and others who are regularly engaged in municipal or other large-scale planning, land use policy-making, reviewing land development proposals, advising landowners, or making land management or regulatory decisions.

The event is free-of-charge but registration is required. Contact Lea Stickle at lstickle@bard.edu or at 845-758-7053 by September 14. Or, you may apply via SurveyMonkey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/CWZKFPQ. Space is limited, so early registration is recommended.
Municipal training certificates will be available.
